I served as Toastmaker at my Toastmaster Club’s first meeting of 2017 and made the following toast:
I have a remnant of a Christmas cactus I had been nursing along for several years with no visible growth. As I was rearranging the house after the holiday, I decided that it was time to give up and send this to the compost pile. When I went to the spare room to retrieve it, this pathetic little plant had, for the first time, one bright pink bloom!
Let’s toast this fresh new year, and the possibilities and miracles that may be in store for us.
